Romantic garden

May must be my favourite month in the garden. I welcome the little pastel flowers that seem to appear out of nowhere. The huge amount of rain we had must have helped. When I sit on my veranda and look over the garden, I see shades of blue, pink and purple everywhere.

Now that the daffodils have wilted, bluebells, dicentra and the long stems with pretty white bells of Salomon's seal appear. The woodland part of my garden is a joy to look at. It has a sweet smelling carpet of Woodruff, through which Spanish and Grape Hyacinths pop up. It looks absolutely enchanting. The Japanese Cherry tree is in full bloom and spreads it's branches full of pink blossoms over the garden path. It looks very romantic.

It makes me forget that the view at the back of the garden is not what it used to be. The last stable blocks of the equestrian centre have now gone. So has the old 19th century farm. Leaving a building yard with stone and rubble. I hope the lilac tree and clematis I planted along the stream last year will grow fast and hide it all from sight.

Some of today's photo's look a bit hazy, but they were taken on a wet day.

Happy Wednesday.
